I had an excellent experience working with Colleen and found it to be perfect timing (there are no coincidences!) and exactly what I needed, even though it was not what I expected.
My concern was that I was experiencing a number of smaller health issues near around the same time that I thought might all be related and tied to some lack of emotional well being: 2 almost successive cases of shingles (when I had only ever had 2 ever before, the last one over 15 years ago), a terrible reaction to a plant or bug bite on my ankle while hiking, and a small growth on my face I had to get removed. I also called because my husband and I had been trying to conceive for a while and I thought maybe there was some issues unconsciously blocking me. While we still have yet to conceive, my strange skin maladies did cease and a year later I've never had the tiniest issue.
What is more profound to me though is what we discovered while working together. I was recommended to her through a mutual friend and called Colleen at first just to sort of re-introduce myself and get a feel for how she worked. It was going to be a significant investment of time, energy and finances, but from our first chat I began to feel strongly that this was the path to take.
Colleen works very intuitively, so during our first session she picked up on some unpleasantness that had happened to me about 12 years ago. While the event was significant, at the time I didn't let it extremely effect me. As she and I talked though, I started to realize there was some bottled-up grief I had been carrying around. That night I had an incredibly lucid dream about the event and woke up completely shaken. It was like I had gone back in time, re-experienced the events, and had just gotten back, this time with very different results: all the pain and shock and emotion was incredibly fresh. They had returned to insist that they be felt.
I had two other situations from the past come back to me in this powerful way, one of which my conscious mind had blocked since I was a teenager. When I shared it with Colleen, I realized I had told maybe one person about it ever… it had never been dealt with, and a significant part of my make-up was still based on that scared young woman.
Our human minds can be amazing at hiding what we don't want to process! But the spirit doesn't forget, and the body that it is connected to lets us know.
In addition to helping me connect to and deal with these difficult and repressed memories, Colleen helped me quite a bit with my relationship with my husband. I gained insight and empathy for him, while identifying my own needs and how to make them known in a positive way.
I also noticed a generally improved sense of well being--it's something that is hard to pinpoint, but when I look at pictures of myself from 15 to 20 years ago, there is a hardness around my face, something troubling and not quite right. In pictures now, while I'm clearly older, I see someone that seems healthier, with a warmer expression. Something has clearly been released.
Finally I loved the custom oil blend she made for me…I wish I could keep a never-ending supply.
