Tips for Intense times

May 10, 2016

It has been intense lately, hasn’t it?  On one hand I’m feeling really good – connected, grateful, happy, healthy.  And on the other, I’m feeling pushed, or shoved really, to make some changes in my life.

I know quite deeply that it’s time to stop being complacent in some areas of my life and to shift more into what I say and know I really want from this “one wild and precious life”(thank you Mary Oliver).  I know I’m not the only one, but, UGH.

It’s kind of a strong, pushy, anxiety-producing feeling that can’t be ignored any longer.

My brain keeps walking toward that dangerous neighborhood of panic, self-disgust and fear, but I haven’t gone all the way there!  I’ve managed to (mostly) stay in the peaceful, self-loving, and abundant neighborhood that I prefer.  This is where solutions are found.

It’s not easy, I know.   Really, I know.  But it is do-able.

It starts with acknowledging any uncomfortable feelings, like, okay, yes, I’m freaking out about this.  And my stomach hurts.  My eyes hurt.  I don’t want to do this anymore…

And then I breathe.  And I say to myself:  “Don’t go there”.  And I remember that wallowing and worrying and constricting around myself will not help.

As someone who works daily with qi and with energy, I know thatconstriction impedes the flow.

Even thought it may feel comfortable and familiar, this constricting of ourselves, by tightening up with fear, anxiety, worry, anger, or whatever we feel when we visit these “dangerous” neighborhoods only brings MORE of that!

Solutions are found when we are open, in the flow, and receptive.

So I breathe into the yucky feelings and I keep breathing into them.  And then I remember how blessed I am, truly.

I know that like attracts like, so as much as I can, I return my vibration to gratitude and to love, and then I feel so much better.  And then I can make better decisions and take better actions.

So that’s the mental part, the mindset piece.  But if that’s not enough, here are some of the other tools I use to help keep me in my happy place:

  • essential oils (lavender, lemon, orange for example)
  • flower essences
  • showers
  • nature walks
  • gemstones (hematite is great to help ground us and keep us present)
  • funny TV shows/movies
  • eating healthy food
  • tapping (emotional freedom technique)
  • awesome music
  • dialogue with my higher realm support teams (specifically asking for help and clarity for whatever issue I’m dealing with)
  • and lots of sleep.

You’re probably familiar with most of these, but sometimes it helps to have some options right in front of you, in order to make a shift.

I think I used all of them today!

Wishing you lots of time in beautiful neighborhoods.
