Concerned about WiFi Exposure?

How about these longer days, huh?  I’m loving them, because it’s especially warm and sunny in Santa Cruz right now.  I’ve got a happy, wet, beached-out dog lying next to me 🙂

 

I know the winter has been hard for some of you, so I hope there are some signs of warmth coming your way soon.  Or at least some daffodils.  I fondly remember them coming up through the snow when I was living in Santa Fe and celebrating the longed-for arrival of spring – and the welcome end of all that cold, snowy stuff!

Today’s article is inspired by a story I heard on NPR yesterday.  It was about the concern over ever-increasing WiFi exposure for kids as laptops and tablets are becoming more and more prevalent in the classroom.

 

As concerning as it may be, wifi is not going anywhere.  There’s really no way to completely avoid it, so just do your best to reduce your exposure and your kids’ exposure too.  For example, using headsets with cell phones, ensuring a good distance from your wifi routers and computer screens (EMF strength reduces with distance), and having the kids take it easy on the video games.  The concern for kids vs. adults is that their brains are still developing and therefore the possible negative side effects are greater.

 

I wanted to offer some natural remedies to support the body in handling this growing exposure to electromagnetic radiation (EMR).  These are subtle, energetic remedies, and they do help.

 

Your Modern Day Medicine Woman’s Recommendations for Support with WiFi Exposure

2.  Smoky Quartz – this gemstone is used to absorb/deflect radiation.  Get a large piece and put it by your computer.  Be sure to cleanse and refresh it regularly.  Also try a gem elixir with a small piece and drink daily.

3.  Salt baths/Magnesium – A cup of Epsom salt or sea salt in your bath is a gentle detoxifier.  A 15 minute soak 1-2 times per week is useful.  This is a also a good way for the body to get extra magnesium, which is neuroprotective and will thus make you less sensitive to EMR. 

4.  General immune system support – consume only organic foods, drink lots of pure water, and get plenty of sleep.

5.  Essential oils – to diffuse in your home (not with children under 2), especially where you sit with your computer.  Sandalwood, Frankincense, and Peppermint are good choices.  Sandalwood is used to repair DNA damage (which can occur with radiation exposure).

6.  Anti-oxidants – to address the free radicals produced by EMR, try adding in extra Vitamin C, A, E, Selenium, Pycnogenol, or black or green tea.

7.  Acupuncture – to keep you functioning optimally, and to address any issues that may start to arise.
