Make a NO list for more energy

We all have different amounts of energy.

Some of our energy is inherited from our parents but the rest we cultivate and grow (and spend or lose) through our own choices in life.

But with limited amounts of daily energy, it’s important to choose wisely how you spend it, especially when dealing with ongoing health issues.

Life has a way of pulling at us and we don’t always make the best choices in the moment, right?

So today I have a simple suggestion to help build some new self-care muscles to protect this precious resource.

Make a “No List”.

Write down three things you are not available for today – actual things or abstract ones.

✴️ Like overcommitment, saying yes when you absolutely mean no, but your inner people-pleaser has a hard time with boundaries.

✴️ Like wallowing in self-doubt instead of working on your art or your business (what a waste of energy!).

✴️ Like drinking too much coffee at work to keep going, instead of having a restorative lunch outside in nature (if it’s warm enough, of course).

✴️ Like spending time mindlessly scrolling on your phone instead of taking a salt bath and going to bed on time.

These are just suggestions. We all have things that drain our energy that need to go. You’ll know what they are.

Give yourself full permission to release them.  Just blow them away, like dandelion seeds into the wind.  🌬️

I hope this gives you some ideas about reclaiming your precious energy.  Building these new muscles can take time, but every time you do, that’s more gas in your tank.
