I Want My Life Back – more than just managing illness

Do you ever feel like you just want your life back?

Do you want more than just managing your autoimmune or chronic symptoms?

I totally remember how that feels. It’s why I’m a seeker. A seeker of solutions for health issues. It’s what led me to enter graduate school in my 20s to study traditional Chinese medicine after being let down by conventional medicine for chronic infections.

And to keep on studying and seeking for solutions over the past 30 years. I’m so curious about all the possible ways our health can become disrupted and how to help. And there are a lot of ways!

So if you have an autoimmune condition, you may have heard some version of:

“Your immune system is attacking your body.”

And once you hear that, it can be easy to feel like your body has somehow become your enemy.

But there’s another way of looking at it, without the warfare metaphor.

Your body may be communicating something important that has not yet been fully understood. 💚

And what if, instead of asking only:

“How do I control this symptom?”

we also started asking:

“Why has my immune system become so dysregulated in the first place?”

This is the question that guides my work.

This is where my years studying the different ways that health can be disrupted come together to try and make sense of someone’s situation.

I believe autoimmune conditions are often more complicated than a single cause. There can be multiple layers contributing to what your body is experiencing.

Things like:

• environmental toxins and toxic burden
• digestive and gut imbalances
• nutritional deficiencies or food triggers
• chronic stress and emotional trauma
• hidden pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, mold, or parasites
• hormonal and nervous-system imbalances
• other physical, emotional and energetic stressors

Not every factor applies to every person.  And there is never just one cause.

That’s exactly the point.

Your situation is unique.

And I don’t believe you should have to spend years trying one thing after another, wondering which piece of the puzzle you’re missing.

A helpful question for today:

Instead of looking at your latest symptom and immediately asking, “How do I get rid of this?”

Try asking:

“What was happening in my life, health, environment, or body around the time this symptom began or changed?”

I love this question.

You may not find the answer immediately.

But you’re beginning to look at your health differently.

And this perspective shift is helpful.

There is more you can learn about your body.

There are more things you can do to support yourself.

And there may be a better way forward than just managing or suppressing your symptoms.

That is the approach I bring to my 1:1 sessions and consultations.

We look beyond the obvious and explore the different layers that may be contributing to your particular autoimmune condition or symptoms. From there, I help you develop personalized strategies involving nutrition, supplements, lifestyle changes, toxin reduction and other root-cause approaches.

You are not powerless in your health journey.

And you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
